EcoWater Softener Prices and Dealer Quotes: What Is Publicly Reported
EcoWater sells through independent local dealers and quotes in your home. It does not post a price list, so you will not find a "$X" on its site. This page collects the figures owners and dealers have reported publicly, labels where each came from, and gives you questions to ask so two quotes are actually comparable. None of these numbers is a quote for your house.
What EcoWater itself says
- EcoWater's dealer locator says it has "over 250 dealers spread across North America" and that a dealer provides a complimentary consultation and professional water test.
- The page lists no model prices. The price is set by the local dealer after the in-home visit.
Reported figures (not list prices)
| What was reported | Figure | Source and caveat |
|---|---|---|
| ECR 3500 with separate salt tank, installed plus tax | $2,249 | Houzz forum post; older model generation, so likely out of date |
| ERR 3502 with separate salt tank, installed plus tax | $2,549 | Same Houzz post; ERR includes a dechlorinator |
| ESD 2502R30 with separate salt tank, installed plus tax | $1,699 | Same Houzz post |
| Softener-only after Costco program discounts | about $3,700 | Houzz buyer thread; the same buyer was first offered $5,500 for a softener plus reverse osmosis |
| Installed refiner quotes collected from owners | about $3,600 to $10,000 | Summary by Mid Atlantic Water, a water-treatment seller, citing owner reports; treat as anecdotal |
Those reports come from different years, regions, and models, which is why they range so widely. We have no verified EcoWater quotes from Tampa Bay yet. If you have one, you can send it through the form on the home page and we will add it to quotes decoded once we can check it.
What the Houzz post says is included
In that one reported quote, the rep said the ERR model's carbon and resin carried a lifetime warranty, the valve body and electronics 10 years, and the dealer added its own warranty on the 3500 series that included 3 years of on-site labor. Warranties differ by model and dealer, so get yours in writing.
Why two EcoWater quotes can differ by thousands
- Softener versus refiner. A conditioner softens. A refiner model adds carbon filtration. A refiner quote compared with a conditioner quote is two different machines. For how chloramine in Tampa Bay water affects resin, see resin replacement.
- Bundles. Reverse osmosis or other add-ons may be folded into one number.
- Program channel. People find EcoWater through Costco, Home Depot, or directly. Mid Atlantic Water reports that Costco refers you to a local dealer and offers a shop card worth 10% of qualified purchases rather than setting the price. Check Costco's current terms yourself.
- Dealer overhead. Independent dealers set their own labor rates and service plans.
Questions to ask in an in-home consultation
- What is the full model code, including the capacity suffix, and is it single or twin tank?
- Is it a plain conditioner or a refiner with carbon, and what does the carbon cost separately?
- What was my measured hardness and iron, and what grain capacity do you recommend? Compare with the sizing guide.
- What is the price today if I sign tonight versus next week, and is the quote in writing, itemized?
- What does install include: bypass, drain air gap, electrical, permits?
- Which warranty parts and labor are covered, and for how long?
- What does the service plan cost after the first year, and is it required?
- Can I get an itemized quote from an independent Clack or Fleck installer to compare? See Clack vs Fleck.
Take your time. A free consultation is not a reason to decide at the kitchen table; request the written quote and sleep on it.
